Readers
These form the first line of access restriction. They are RFID card readers, keypad or a finger print reader. To gain access one has to show a proximity pin car or enter a pin code.
Biometric Locks
It is the science behind fingertip technology that enables the locks to recognize the person. The fingertip of each person is entirely different. The structure of fingertip will be stored in the memory. It is widely used by banks, big industries, business men etc. The sensor used is known as ‘optical’. From it we will get multi-language support and it is built in bell scheduling. There will be audio indications for acceptance and rejection of valid/invalid fingers. It’s operating temperature is between 0-45 degree Celsius and operating humidity is between 20%-80%. Most common languages used are English, Chinese, and French etc.
Metal Detector
Metal detector is a security device used to detect the presence of metals. Both ferrous and non-ferrous metals can be found out even if it is concealed in ferrite containers. There are two types of metal detectors. Door frame metal detector and Handheld metal detector. It has following features
v Door frame metal detector has a high 'Q’ turned resonant circuit.
v A linear sensitivity control knob for precise setting at desired level
v Three level visual indication of metal detection through 10mm LED
v Audio alarm through piezo electric transducer with volume control on detection
v Walk or stop indicator
EDDY CURRENT LOSS is the principle behind the working of metal detector. Its power source is 230 Volt AC+15% & 12 Volt DC operation.
Eddy Current Loss
Eddy Current is a phenomenon caused by the change in an induced magnetic field. The relative motion causes a circulating flow of electrons or current with in the conductor, leading efficiency loss.

Bank Safes
It is not easy to someone to loot bank safes. Science & technology developed so life of thieves is getting tougher and tougher. From the project we conducted, we came to know about bank safes. We came to know that body of safe is about 120 mm thick, consisting of a hard steel alloy plates welded together, with a filling of ceramic material or special type of concrete. There will be a coating of fire-proof material also. There are bolts to open the locker. The bolts are pushed in and out with one handle called –‘Throwing handle’. Many safes have anti-explosive devices (AEDs). If anyone tries to open bank safes without giving proper password and all, devices automatically trigger a mechanism that locks the bolts in position, so that they can’t withdraw. Most of the bank safes are used with the help of keys as it is very easy to handle. Number locks are also common. Most of the safes have a four wheeled combination lock with 100 numbers in each row. Setting the correct number in line will allow the bolt to be withdrawn from the lock.
Now a day technology plays an important role in this field. The above methods are used by big financial banks only. The lockers and safes in small banks are very common. So looting is also very easy there. So in our opinion, the small banks also need the above systems. So the job of thief will be much tougher.
