Kireedam
Kireedam is a very poignant story about a youngster, Sethumadhavan (Mohanlal), who unintentionally and unwillingly gets involved in a gang fight that keeps roping him back and finally costs him everything - from his relationships, to career to even his life. Sibi Malayil, the director, has turned a simple story into a grandiose masterpiece. This movie is nothing short of brilliant, with its strong dialogues, spectacular acting, crisp direction and editing. I'll let the rest of the review support the hype created above.
Sethumadhavan, a youngster in a village who aspires to join the police team deriving inspiration from his father Achuthan Nair (Thilakan), is part of a happy loving family comprising of Sethu, his mother, father, younger sister and brother. Achuthan, an honest cop and a doting father who is hellbent on making his son into an honest cop too, gets transferred just after Sethu writes his exams. Little does the family know what is in store for them in the village which is troubled byKeerikadan Jose (Mohan Raj). Achuthan joins the police force that has thus far turned a blind eye to Jose's plunders and crimes. One fine day, Achuthan hears of trouble by Jose at the local market, and the honest cop that he is, single handedly sets out to arrest him. Meanwhile, Sethu comes to know of this showdown, hurries to the market to save his dad from any troubles he may be getting into. Unable to bear the sight of Jose kicking his father, Sethu confronts Jose and subdues his imposing figure. From this point on, his life takes a turn to the worse. Sethu gets typecast by the society as a 'rowdy'. His futile efforts at getting back to normal life with family make him feel helpless. Even people in his own family start to suspect him of getting his hands dirty in mob fights. Hydhrose(Haneefa) and Sethu's brother-in-law are characters who add further complexities and woes to an already emotionally riddled Sethu. Finally unable to handle the precarious position that the society is driving him to, Sethu finds no other solution than killing Jose. In an exemplary climax, a fight ensues between Sethu and Jose, and in a fit of rage Sethu kills Jose.
This was the first malayalam movie I watched fully about a decade back. Instant love, is how I'd describe my instinctive reaction towards the movie. A simple story that is replete with complex emotions, is handled with nonchalance by the experienced crew that includes Mohanlal and Thilakan. I've always heard Mohanlal being compared to Kamal in his potential as an actor and it took this movie to prove to me that the comparison by no means is irrational. The actor's subtle and underplayed emotions in the movie, in contrast to Kamal's active body language and louder recitals or dialogues, was different and resembled reality as closely as Kamal's acting. As Sethu, the gleam in his eye that expresses a yearning for a normal life could not have been played to such perfection by any other actor. A few scenes were made to stick - the one scene where he goes to see his mom and dad in a hospital just before setting out to kill Jose, the scene in the school where he tells his love, played by Parvathi, to etch a new life for herself sans him and of course the stunning climax where he displays a wide range of emotions after killing Jose. Thilakan also lives up to the standards that Mohanlal sets. His character is of appalling dimension, sensitivity and charm and I'm not sure any other actor could persuade us so well on all three accounts. The other characters support the story line and every actor has done his role quite well. This movie gave Haneefa a much needed break.
The music is set to the film's tempo and theme. The song by M. G. Sreekumar,KaNNeer Poovinte, which laments about Sethu's life being a complete wreck for no fault of his, bestowed him the national award for the year. Needless to say, Mohanlal bagged the national award for the best actor for his role as Sethumadhavan.
The special interest in this movie now is because the Tamil movie Kireedam, the Ajith starrer, is based on this epic drama. I think the crew is guaranteed success if they diligently retread the MalayaLam version into Tamil. Let us wait and see how successful this remake is

Harnessing the power of your brain
They say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but when it comes to the brain, scientists have discovered that this old adage simply isn’t true. The human brain has an astonishing ability to adapt and change—even into old age. This ability is known asneuroplasticity. With the right stimulation, your brain can form new neural pathways, alter existing connections, and adapt and react in ever-changing ways.
The brain’s incredible ability to reshape itself holds true when it comes to learning and memory. You can harness the natural power of neuroplasticity to increase your cognitive abilities, enhance your ability to learn new information, and improve your memory.
But sleep is critical to learning and memory in an even more fundamental way. Research shows that sleep is necessary for memory consolidation, with the key memory-enhancing activity occurring during the deepest stages of sleep.
Research shows that having meaningful relationships and a strong support system are vital not only to emotional health, but brain health. In one recent study from the Harvard School of Public Health, for example, researchers found that people with the most active social lives had the slowest rate of memory decline.
There are many ways to start taking advantage of the brain and memory-boosting benefits of socializing. Volunteer, join a club, make it a point to see friends more often, or reach out over the phone. And if a human isn’t handy, don’t overlook the value of a pet—especially the highly-social dog.
Furthermore, listening to jokes and working out punch lines activates areas of the brain vital to learning and creativity. As psychologist Daniel Goleman notes in his bookEmotional Intelligence, “laughter…seems to help people think more broadly and associate more freely.”

The brain’s incredible ability to reshape itself holds true when it comes to learning and memory. You can harness the natural power of neuroplasticity to increase your cognitive abilities, enhance your ability to learn new information, and improve your memory.
Improving memory tip 1: Don’t skimp on exercise or sleep
Just as an athlete relies on sleep and a nutrition-packed diet to perform his or her best, your ability to remember increases when you nurture your brain with a good diet and other healthy habits. When you exercise the body, you exercise the brain
Treating your body well can enhance your ability to process and recall information. Physical exercise increases oxygen to your brain and reduces the risk for disorders that lead to memory loss, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.Exercise may also enhance the effects of helpful brain chemicals and protect brain cells.Improve your memory by sleeping on it
When you’re sleep deprived, your brain can’t operate at full capacity. Creativity, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills are compromised. Whether you’re studying, working, or trying to juggle life’s many demands, sleep deprivation is a recipe for disaster. But sleep is critical to learning and memory in an even more fundamental way. Research shows that sleep is necessary for memory consolidation, with the key memory-enhancing activity occurring during the deepest stages of sleep.
Improving memory tip 2: Make time for friends and fun
When you think of ways to improve memory, do you think of “serious” activities such as wrestling with the New York Times crossword puzzle or mastering chess strategy or do more lighthearted pastimes—hanging out with friends or enjoying a funny movie—come to mind? If you’re like most of us, it’s probably the former. But countless studies show that a life that’s full of friends and fun comes with cognitive benefits.Healthy relationships: the ultimate memory booster?
Humans are highly social animals. We’re not meant to thrive, let alone thrive, in isolation. Relationships stimulate our brains—in fact, interacting with others may be the best kind of brain exercise.Research shows that having meaningful relationships and a strong support system are vital not only to emotional health, but brain health.
Laughter is good for your brain
You’ve heard that laughter is the best medicine, and that holds true for the brain as well as the body. Unlike emotional responses, which are limited to specific areas of the brain, laughter involves multiple regions across the whole brain.Furthermore, listening to jokes and working out punch lines activates areas of the brain vital to learning and creativity. As psychologist Daniel Goleman notes in his bookEmotional Intelligence, “laughter…seems to help people think more broadly and associate more freely.”
Looking for ways to bring more laughter in your life? Start with these basics:
- Laugh at yourself. Share your embarrassing moments. The best way to take ourselves less seriously is talk about times when we took ourselves too seriously.
- When you hear laughter, move toward it. Most of the time, people are very happy to share something funny because it gives them an opportunity to laugh again and feed off the humor you find in it. When you hear laughter, seek it out and ask, “What’s funny?”
- Spend time with fun, playful people. These are people who laugh easily–both at themselves and at life’s absurdities–and who routinely find the humor in everyday events. Their playful point of view and laughter are contagious.
- Surround yourself with reminders to lighten up. Keep a toy on your desk or in your car. Put up a funny poster in your office. Choose a computer screensaver that makes you laugh. Frame photos of you and your family or friends having fun.
- Pay attention to children and emulate them. They are the experts on playing, taking life lightly, and laughing.
Improving memory tip 3: Keep stress in check
Stress is one of the brain’s worst enemies. Over time, if left unchecked, chronic stress destroys brain cells and damages the hippocampus, the region of the brain involved in the formation of new memories and the retrieval of old ones.courtsey:http://helpguide.org/life/improving_memory.htm

We express our special thanks to bank employees, electronic shop workers, and jewelry staffs who have helped us in the survey. We express our sincere gratitude to our friends and teachers who helped us by giving ideas. We express our sincere gratitude to all who have helped us in achieving the goal….
Conclusion
Conclusion
Continuous house breakings, robberies, natural and other calamities, accidents, attacks from same species and animals etc. forced us to think of a life with maximum security. Do we, the 100% literate Keralites or otherwise Indians, aware of the facilities offered by science in this regard? That question paved the way for this project. And we got an answer also
Some shocking answer we think. To be frank, we the Indians are not bothered about security facilities provided by science. In the motherland of great scientists like CV Raman, JC Bose it is a great pity that even in this most modern age the Indian masses are ignorant of the use of the scientific equipments provide safety and security. Our neighboring countries like China, Japan, and Korea are far ahead in this matter. We hope that our work in the form of this project would have turned to be an eye-opener at least for to our class/school mates.
Through the project we conducted, we came to know that the security facilities in automobile sector are also quite weak. It has to be improved. The Government must take necessary actions. During morning walk the people must carry handheld indicator lights. By the process called reflection the drivers of the vehicles could see the people. If the driver of the vehicle in which we travel has drunk, we can check the same by using Key Chain Breath Analyzer. This can be made compulsory especially during school excursion. During the morning walk and also when crossing road in the night, indicator lights can be used. Then the drivers of other vehicles can see us and thus major accidents can be avoided.
Apart from the high tech gadgets used by the vehicle owners for safe driving there are some other equipment. In emergency situations these equipments will be in use in one way or other. In some foreign countries keeping ‘Maintenance and machine kit’ in the vehicle is necessary. This will enable the ordinary passengers to repair the vehicle if the vehicle faces an accident.
There must be accident-free roads. Thus accidents can be avoided. We came to a conclusion that to attain 100% security, the available security equipments has to be improved.
Analysis
Analysis
Through the project we conducted, we came to know about the ultra modern security systems used in cars as well as house. In the first part of the project itself we have noted that camera has got much importance in the security field. The survey also gave us the same answer. Most people are saying that they are comfortable with present security equipments. Most people don’t know how a burglar alarm works and how it has to be activated. In our survey the real star was fire alarm.
Fire alarm is popular more than we expected. It is widely used by industries. Most of the equipments work with the help of sensors. The working of camera was new information. 70% of the fire alarms are made in India. But most other security systems whether it is used in vehicle or house, it is imported from foreign countries and it is very costly. There are branded and unbranded companies producing these equipments.
Biometric locks which we don’t know much is used by banks. There are biometric lockers and laser lockers. But biometric lockers are widely used by big financial banks. But we were unable to find a bank with biometric locker in our survey. The information received about bank safes was also interesting.
Some of the people participated in the survey expressed an opinion that the challenges before security are lack of scientific approach and high product value. Some of the people participated in the survey said that there are thieves who can cheat these equipments. They also have modern facilities with them. The same technology itself helps them. So how can we believe these equipments? This is a point most of us will forget.
We want to attain 100% security, that’s our aim. Day by day technology is developing. This field is also developing. That technology is being sold by the companies. After the project we researched for new equipments. Finally a metal detector can be made in home. It will work, but it will not be efficient.
Suggestions
Our Suggestions
The word metal detector itself says what its use is. It is an instrument used to detect the presence of metals. We can make a metal detector in our home with the help of house hold equipments. This was the main goal that we achieved through the project.
v The security features in cars has to be strictly implemented.
v All cars must have Around View Mirrors, Automatic Braking System etc.
v The fire alarm has to be strictly implemented in all offices
v Everyone must be aware of it
v Due to weather problems the fire alarm may get weak, so there must be modern facilities such as sms, live videos etc.
v Door frame metal detector has to be implemented in places like railway station
v In our opinion biometric locks, laser locks has to be implemented in banks
v The equipment has to be cleaned well, other ways it may cause problem to the sensor.
v Cleaning solution can be made in home with the following things.
· Distilled water
· Isopropyl alcohol
· Nonporous storage container or bowl/spoon
· Cotton swabs and/or Q-tips
We don’t really need much of the solution but we can always make a bit more and clean other electronic LCD screens in our home as well. There is no scientific guideline about the mix of distilled water and alcohol. In general, a 50/50 solution is used, or sometimes even a 60/40 or 70/30 when it comes to water vs. alcohol. When mixing it together, you could always just mix what you need into a bowl and then pour the rest out. Or, if you’d like to keep some for later, be sure you have something that is airtight and leak-proof

Method of Study
Method of Study
For conducting survey we made 4 types of questionnaires as shown in the appendix. Information received thus was analyzed before conclusion. We made questionnaire for bank, jewelry, local people and electronic shops. We collected information about modern security equipments from resources like Internet, Books etc. It is also included in the project report. We made still models of security equipments and we found out a way to make a metal detector.
Aim
Aim of the Project
The aim of the project is not complex. It is very simple. Through the project we want to know how much people are aware of modern security equipments. As the numbers of thieves are increasing we must depend up on security equipments. In simple words, our aim is to make a scientific approach among people towards security measures.

Car Alarms
Most car alarms have:
v A computer control unit-This monitors everything and sounds the alarm
v Sensors- These are detectors
v Siren-Used to create various sounds
v A stand by battery
The car alarm’s computer control unit receives signals from all sensors and activates the alarm signaling – sirens, horns, emergency light etc.
The following picture shows the parts of a car alarm.
Different types of sensors
Door sensors-
Most car alarm systems utilize the switches that are already built into most modern cars for switching on internal lights when any of these are opened. Many modern car alarm systems also monitor the voltage in the car's electrical circuit. Whenever there is a drop in this voltage, the control unit knows that someone has interfered with the electrical system – opened a door, bonnet, trunk causing a light to come on, or messed with the wiring. Although door sensors are highly effective, they don't respond if someone climbs through a smashed window, or if they tow your car away, other additional forms of protection are required.
Shock sensors-
This type of sensor is activated by somebody hitting your car, or moving it in some way.
Window sensors-
Many criminals don't bother with overcoming door locks; they just smash a window to get into your vehicle. This type of intrusion can be detected by some form of glass break detector, the simplest form of which is based on a simple microphone. As breaking glass has its own distinctive sound frequency (pattern of air pressure fluctuations), the signals are passed through a crossover unit which filters out all other frequencies. The alarm is triggered when the glass is broken.
Pressure sensors-
These monitor air pressure levels inside a vehicle. Even if the air pressure is the same inside and outside the vehicle – the act of opening a door or smashing a window pulls or pushes the air in the car, creating a brief change in pressure. The sensors are activated and alarm is produced.
Motion and tilt sensors-
Many thieves are not after your whole car or what is in it, they want individual parts of your car, such as the expensive alloy wheels, or they may want to dismantle the whole car and sell its parts. They may therefore jack the car up where it is or tow it away for dismantling. To defeat this type of crime vehicles can be fitted with tilt detectors, normally in the form of a mercury switch. Mercury is a liquid metal which conducts electricity and flows like water, making it ideal as a movable contact responding to angle of tilt. Car alarms typically use an array of mercury switches positioned at varying angles, some of which are in the closed position when you're parked on a slope and some of them are in the open position. The control unit responds to the changing state of these switches (some open and some close), caused by jacking or lifting up to tow away.
vehicle systems
ABS (Automatic Breaking System)
Today, virtually all cars come with ABS as standard equipment or as an option.ABS was designed to help you maintain directional control during emergency stops and when road conditions are poor. By maintaining control, you have better chances of avoiding a crash. ABS is especially useful on wet and slippery roads. You should never pump the brake pedal on a car with ABS, since the system itself “pumps” the brakes automatically. All you need to do is apply firm and continuous pressure to the brake pedal to activate ABS operation. When the ABS system operates, you may feel a pulsating sensation from the brake pedal. When ABS operation is no longer needed, the braking system reverts to conventional hydraulic operation without intervention from the ABS system.
Driver Alertness Monitor
Driver Alertness Monitor
The system has been designed to be easy to see, easy to use, and easy to understand. The birds-eye view makes it easy for the driver to position the vehicle for parallel parking. The front/rear view enables the driver to simultaneously confirm the front or rear of the vehicle. (Right image).Information of the sonar, equipped on the vehicle corners for camera assistance, is shown on the display in an easy-to-understand way.
Line Departure Warning
In road-transport terminology, a Line departure warning system is a mechanism designed to warn a driver when the vehicle begins to move out of its lane (unless a turn signal is on in that direction) on freeways and arterial roads. These systems are designed to minimize accidents by addressing the main causes of collisions: driver error, distractions and drowsiness. United States of America has strictly implemented this system.Line warning/keeping systems are based on:
v Video sensors in the visual domain (mounted behind the windshield, typically integrated beside the rear mirror)
v Laser sensors (mounted on the front of the vehicle)
v Infrared sensors (mounted either behind the windshield or under the vehicle)
Around View Monitor
Its name itself describes its use. This system will provide a clear view of all sides with the help of LCD screen. This helps driver during parking and driving. The cameras are fitted on all sides.
Airbags
Most new vehicles have air bags to provide vehicle occupants extra protection in a collision. They provide a protective cushion between the person and the steering wheel, dashboard, and windshield. Note that seat belts and air bags are designed to work together, and injuries may occur if seat belts are not used in air-bag-equipped vehicles.
Technology plays a major role in the auto mobile field also A car gets plenitude o when it has these systems. Then only it will become venerable. The people will get attracted on it. In the royal Benz and ordinary bullock cart, the journey will be comfortable only when there are safety features. This technology known as Auto Electronics is fast developing. The engineers in this field Las good scope. Most this systems will protrude out from common man’s head, not from that of erudite. Car alarms - there are a wide variety of systems available today, many of which are linked to an engine immobilizer.
On going through a magazine we came to know that first documented case of car theft was in 1896. From that early era to today, cars have been a natural target for thieves. They are valuable, and very easy to resell. Some studies claim that a gets broken into every 20 seconds in India alone.
project
Readers
These form the first line of access restriction. They are RFID card readers, keypad or a finger print reader. To gain access one has to show a proximity pin car or enter a pin code.
Biometric Locks
It is the science behind fingertip technology that enables the locks to recognize the person. The fingertip of each person is entirely different. The structure of fingertip will be stored in the memory. It is widely used by banks, big industries, business men etc. The sensor used is known as ‘optical’. From it we will get multi-language support and it is built in bell scheduling. There will be audio indications for acceptance and rejection of valid/invalid fingers. It’s operating temperature is between 0-45 degree Celsius and operating humidity is between 20%-80%. Most common languages used are English, Chinese, and French etc.
Metal Detector
Metal detector is a security device used to detect the presence of metals. Both ferrous and non-ferrous metals can be found out even if it is concealed in ferrite containers. There are two types of metal detectors. Door frame metal detector and Handheld metal detector. It has following features
v Door frame metal detector has a high 'Q’ turned resonant circuit.
v A linear sensitivity control knob for precise setting at desired level
v Three level visual indication of metal detection through 10mm LED
v Audio alarm through piezo electric transducer with volume control on detection
v Walk or stop indicator
EDDY CURRENT LOSS is the principle behind the working of metal detector. Its power source is 230 Volt AC+15% & 12 Volt DC operation.
Eddy Current Loss
Eddy Current is a phenomenon caused by the change in an induced magnetic field. The relative motion causes a circulating flow of electrons or current with in the conductor, leading efficiency loss.

Medium Objects like pistol, small weapons |
High Objects like watches, keys, and coins |
Bank Safes
It is not easy to someone to loot bank safes. Science & technology developed so life of thieves is getting tougher and tougher. From the project we conducted, we came to know about bank safes. We came to know that body of safe is about 120 mm thick, consisting of a hard steel alloy plates welded together, with a filling of ceramic material or special type of concrete. There will be a coating of fire-proof material also. There are bolts to open the locker. The bolts are pushed in and out with one handle called –‘Throwing handle’. Many safes have anti-explosive devices (AEDs). If anyone tries to open bank safes without giving proper password and all, devices automatically trigger a mechanism that locks the bolts in position, so that they can’t withdraw. Most of the bank safes are used with the help of keys as it is very easy to handle. Number locks are also common. Most of the safes have a four wheeled combination lock with 100 numbers in each row. Setting the correct number in line will allow the bolt to be withdrawn from the lock.
Now a day technology plays an important role in this field. The above methods are used by big financial banks only. The lockers and safes in small banks are very common. So looting is also very easy there. So in our opinion, the small banks also need the above systems. So the job of thief will be much tougher.
